Welcome to Paper Town! I'm glad you've joined us, or are considering it! Here is our guide to starting out in Paper Town. It's always good to know what is available. Here you'll find an overview of everything your avatar includes--which bases you start with, which eye colors, and which hairstyle. You'll also find a link to the shop with starter clothes.

We have six different base types: Chocolate, Caramel, Coffee, Chestnut, Peach, and Cream. The bases are genderless. A user can choose to express or not express a gender identity through their clothing and accessory choices. In addition, all bases can wear all of the clothing--no more losing out on those male-only pants you wanted, or that female-only top just because your avatar base doesn't match! All bases include the option of the default facial expression (shown above), a closed-mouth smile, or an open-mouth smile. Some special items have surfaced in the past that give different facial expressions as well...

Included with your avatar are two underwear options: Boxers or a bra/panty set.

We feel we've represented a great array of skin tone choices, but if you think there should be something else available by default, let us know in the Town Hall forum!

Our default eye colors are Ice, Chocolate, Mint, and Licorice. In addition, the store Optical Illusions carries colored contact lenses that you may purchase in other colors.

We have 15 hairstyles, as pictured above. Everyone automatically has access to all of them. In addition, we have seven default hair colors as shown: Platinum, Blonde, Light Brown, Medium Brown, Dark Brown, Red, and Black. That means you have 105 different hair options available to you right when you join Paper Town! Hair Dye is available at Head Cases for quite a hefty price--but once you buy a single color, it is available to you for as long as you keep that dye in your inventory, and you can use all the hairstyles in that color!

Every new citizen in Paper Town starts out with 100 to spend at our stores. You can save up for something you like, or check out Wayback, Paper Town's thrift store, where you can find starter clothes for less! There are quite a few outfits you can assemble just from this shop.
