Description and Characters:

When you know your best friends a witch you think it would drive you crazy and never want to talk to them again. But it's different with me and Holly, we were best friends for as long as I know. And Holly being a with can always come in handy.

“Noemi? You there?” Holly asked through the phone. I heard Holly’s voice ring through the phone trying to get my attention.

Holly was my best friend and even when she told me she was a witch, and I still trusted her. Well I can’t really say I trusted her because I freaked at first, well who wouldn’t! Finding out your best friend is a witch is huge news! But once I got over it I thought having a Bff that was a witch could be very fun.

“Oh, I’m sorry Holly, I just sorta blanked. What were you saying again?” I asked.

She sighed and said, “I was talking about the big party coming up! I also said I can get us in, again.”

I giggled, “Really, another trick of yours, what one this time? And I think you should keep the magic to yourself. People are going to start wondering . . . but I guess we can go.” I said before she went all five-year-old on me.

“Really!” She squealed, “well, I knew you were gonna go, so I already got my outfit ready and everything!”

“What! Oh never mind. What are you wearing?” I asked, trying to keep the conversation going and not start a fight.

“Um, that light blue sequent top I bought last week and the short black mini-skirt I got from x-mas from little old you.”

“Well, a nice combo I must say. But what am I going to wear!” I said.

“Ahh, try on your . . . white halter and those light blue short shorts you bought last summer,” she said after I put her one speaker phone. “Oh, and the silver belt, I gave you for your birthday.”

“Which on is that?” I asked stupidly.

“Erg, you know the one that goes around your waist three time and just hangs there.”

“Oh, that belt. The one that I said shouldn’t be a belt because it doesn’t hold your pants up and is just for looks.” I said sarcastically.

“Yeah,” she said, and I could tell she probably just rolled her eyes.

“Oh-my-god! I love it!” I screamed.

“I knew you would, and I gotta go. Mom said I got to take Demon for a walk.” She said and I screwed up my face. Demon was Holly’s dog, and he was totally evil! Holly got Demon for her 14th birthday from her mom. I thought he was cute so I went to go pet him and he nearly bit my hand off! So yeah, I really don’t like her dog.

“Okay, bye.” I said and hung up, and took off my outfit. Oh no, Holly never said when the party was. Great.

I sighed, “oh well,” I glanced at my alarm clock on my night table. “Holy shit it’s 11:23 and Holly is taking her dog for a walk! I thought she was a witch not some kind of vampire or werewolf, but I guess witches are also considered night people. Oh well while she’s walking her ‘Demon’ I’m going to bed.” I laughed


“Noemi, phone!” I heard my mom yell from down stairs the next morning. My mom was a single mother, and I was always amazed at how she could take care of me and my sister Amy.

I groaned, “It’s 9:30! Tell them I’m asleep!” I shouted back, because there was no way I was waking up this early on Saturday.

“It’s Holly.” Mom said back.

“Okay,” I said and climbed out of bed and grabbed the phone on my dresser and pressed talk, “Holy shit girl, do you sleep?” was the first thing I said.

Holly laughed, “Yes, I do sleep. Just not all day!” She said and I giggled.

“So why did you call?” I asked while lying back down on my bed and turning some music, ‘Forever Or Never’ came on by Cinema Bizarre. It was one of my favourite songs because the meaning was pretty much you got to do what you want now be before it’s to late, and it also had an awesome beat.

“Noemi!” I jumped.

“Oh my god, I so sorry. You know how I am when I comes to music!” I said and she laughed.

“Yes, I know! Don’t remind me,” she said.

“So what were you saying?” I asked.

“I said, be ready for six o’clock tonight that’s when I’m picking you up, because we got to go all the way to town.” She said, and I was confused.

“Why are we going in town again?” I asked.

“Oh yeah that’s right, I never told you, the party’s tonight.” I groaned again.


“You should of told me that last night!” I said.

“Well sorry, I forgot like how you zone out every time I call you.” She said.

“Okay, you win.” I said and laughed.

“Hah, I always win!” She said.

“Now don’t get all cocky about it.”

“Haha, I wont, but be ready for six o’clock sharp!” She said.

“Okay, and I’m gonna go now and jump in the shower, and plan out what to do with my hair.” I said.

“Okay, byee!” she said and hung up.

I flopped back down on my bed, and put my hand on my face. “Man I’m tired,” I said while listening to the song ‘Hero Of War’ by Rise Against. I got up and changed the song because it wasn’t my favourite song. That ‘paparazzi’ came on by Lady gaga.

I smiled and got some clothes out of my dresser and threw them on the bed and started to sing along to the song. I was a great singer I won awards in the past but I quite after because I thought there was no point in singing because it’s nearly impossible to become a singer. So now I just sing for fun.

Once the song was over, I turned off the music and went to get a shower. The water wasn’t the warmest because the little brat got in before me and used up all the hot water. You would think me and my sister would get along. But we hate each other, Amy was a year older than me and she was in grade 12, head cheerleader perfect hair which was brown and was always curled. Her eyes were a hazel that matched her hair perfectly.

Amy was perfect and everyone was jealous of her, well most of the girls really mostly because she was going out with the head football player, Conner. I sighed Amy was perfect and I wasn’t with my blonde hair and brown eyes that reminded me of chocolate. I was just as skinny and tall as her though, I weighed 112 pounds and I was 5' 3''. That was the only thing we had in common.

After I got out of the shower, I got something to eat. I went to the cupboard to get cereal there was . . . nothing really, so I got toast. As I was waiting for it to toast mom walked up to me and asked why Holly called. I told her that she wanted me to go over to her house to hang out tonight, I lied I know but my mom never lets me go to parties.

“That nice of her,” my mom said. “I really like that girl,” mom said and smiled, “unlike half the girls Amy brings here,” she paused, “don’t tell her I said that okay, hun?”

“I wont,” I said and rolled my eyes.

“Okay sweetie, I going to go lie down for a little while. Work was horrible last night.” she said while walking upstairs to her bedroom. My mom works the night shift at a hospital, so I don’t blame her for being exhausted all the time. Especially around here because everyone is like accident pron. I giggled, but it’s true.

When I turned around, I noticed that my toast was already up. “Shit,” I said while taking the now toasted bread out the toaster. At least it wasn’t cold, I rolled my eyes and got the chez whizz out of the fridge and put it on my toast and started to eat.

Once I was done, I noticed that the sing was filled with dishes, I glanced upstairs and remembered how tired mom was and that at my watch, 11:12. “Guess I should at least wash the dishes.” I said to myself and started to fill up the sink with hot water.

It took about twenty minuets to wash and dry the dishes. “Where’s you going?” I asked when I turned around to see Amy sneaking out the back door.

“That’s none of your business!” she said.

“Whatever,” I said and went to go start messing with my hair.

When I walked in my room I turned on the radio and turned it down on low, ‘All to Myself’ by Marians Trench was playing, Josh was so hot (the lead singer). Ever since the band came out, I thought he was pretty hot, but he was 26 so I decided to forget about him.

Anyway, I started to try some hairstyles, first I pinned my hair half up and half down. It didn’t look right. Than I did a pony’s tail with a clip on bottom that didn’t work either. “Pig tails? Nah., to elementary school,” I said and laughed at how I was talking to myself. “How about hair pinned to the side?” I tried it. . . “nope.” I said. “Um . . . ” I sat there thinking. Than I decided on what, I was going to do. I pinned my hair half up, straightened the bottom, than I cut my bangs. They were about chin length, I cut them to the bottom of my ears first and than went shorter in the middle. When I was down cutting, I partnered my bangs, the short part went over my right eye a little, and the left side wasn’t covering my eye.

I got up and spun around in slow motion, “I love it!” I heard someone say.

I turned to see who was in the door way, “Holly!” I said and ran over to hug her. “Thanks, how long were you there?” I asked.

“About a minuet” she after she glanced at the clock on my wall, than she giggled.

“Oh, well.” Said feeling like I was just stalked. Than I looked at the clock 3:29, “wow, time flies when your doing your hair.” I said.

“Yup it dose,” Holly agreed. Than I noticed that she was wearing what she was going to the party with.

“Why are you here so early?” I asked confused.

“Well I decided since it’s a long drive we should go earlier if you want.” she said.

“Ok, just I gotta get something to eat and than change, you can wait here if you want,” I said, and she nodded. “Okay,” I said and smiled and went down stairs and made some kraft dinner for myself. It took fifteen minuets to make and about five minuets to eat. Than I ran back up stairs to change.

“Wow, that’s hot,” I heard Holly say, and I laughed.

“Oh hold on, I’m going to leave mom a note,” I said grabbing a pen and paper,
Mom,
I decided to go to Holly’s earlier, I already ate. And I washed the dishes earlier.

Ps. Amy left earlier so if she’s not back when you get up don’t worry she probably went shopping with her friends.

“Okay done, lets go,” I said, trying to keep my voice low.

“Yay party,” I heard Holly say but I wasn’t really paying attention, because I was too busy staring at her new car. It was a Lime green lambo.

“Oh-My-God!” I shrieked and jumped in the car.

“Like it?” Holly said and all I could do was nod, “Daddy bought it yesterday for me.” She said, like it was nothing, it’s probably because her dad is rich. Nobody knows excerpt me, but wow this car was awesome!

“I can’t wait to see the looks on people’s face when we pull up in this!” I said.

“Same . . . ” Holly said and began to drive.

“Oh my god! We’re here!” I screamed, “it only took three and a half hours!” I said and laughed.

“Oh, shut up! While I find somewhere to park.” Holly said and laughed.

“Okay,” I said and looked around, a few guys were staring at us all the other girls were jealous, I smiled.

“Okay you can talk now.” Holly said.

“Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! There are guys staring at us and come on I wanna go in!” I said in a rush.

“Deep breaths Noemi,” Holly said and laughed, “Oh come on.” She said and opened her door the same time I opened mine. When I got out I felt like a celebrity all the guys that were outside were staring at us and talking to one another. I looked over at Holly and she was enjoying the attention just as much as I was.

“Come on,” I said and started to walk towards the door of the huge house that was in front of us. Than I saw someone he was totally hot, and with he looked my in the eye it felt like I’d been electrocuted. I almost lost my balance and fell but I caught myself, than I shook my head to clear it.

“Come on, Clumsy.” I heard Holly say and giggle. I blushed, everyone had to see that. But oh well half of these people probably didn’t know me. When we got to the door someone was there and asked us who we were, but Holly did some kind of magic trick to get him to ignore us and let us in. I always loved how when she did magic her eyes would turn colour, they would go from dark brown to dark red. It was amazing.

“Okay well I’m gonna go and chill with my friend okay?” I heard Holly say over the music, “go find yourself a boy friend out of it!” I rolled my eyes.

“Maybe I will,” I said and started to walk to the guy who was staring at me earlier the one that made me feel funny. “Hey,” I said when I got to him.

“Hey,” He said back, wow his voice was hot, “I’m Issac, and you are?”

“Noemi,” I said and blushed.

“That’s a nice name,” he said.

“Thanks,” I said, “I like your name too.” I wasn’t sure what to say.

“Thanks,” he laughed, “so you enjoying the party?” he asked.

“Yeah it’s awesome!” I said.

“Haha yeah it is, James always throws awesome parties.” Issac said.

“Who’s James?” I asked.

“He’s my brother, well half brother,” he said.

“Oh, that’s cool,” I said.

“Yeah, you have any brothers or sisters?” he asked.

“Yeah, Amy.” I said and rolled my eyes.

“You don’t like her.” he said it wasn’t a question but I said yeah. “Why?”

“I don’t know, she’s like perfect and gets whatever and whoever she wants,” I said.

“Oh.” Issac said, “my brother is alright.”

“Trade ya.” I said and we both laughed.

“You’re funny, you know that.” He said.

“No, I’m not funny. I’m just sarcastic.”

“Sarcastic, funny, same thing,” he said.

“Yeah I guess,” I said and laughed.

“So that car you came here in, it was sick!” He said.

“Yeah I know that was Holly’s car. She got it the other day,” I said.

“Well tell her she better keep an eye on it or I’ll steal it.” he said and I laughed.

“Okay, I’ll tell her,” I said but I though Good luck trying, If Holly casts a spell on it you wont get it, aha.

“Haha, so you wanna dance?” he asked out of nowhere.

I looked at him and his eye flashed a bright blue that made me dizzy, “sure,” I said, what just happened?! I thought.

“Awesome,” he said and I laughed as we made are way through the crowd, most of the girls were staring at me, well I should say they were glaring at me. And the guys had looks of disappointment which cheered some of the girls up.

As soon as we stared to dance a slow song came on, lovely I thought. Before I could think we were slow dancing. I noticed that Issac whispered something but I couldn’t hear what he said over the music. I just sighed and kept dancing. Than before I knew it the song was over and Issac bent over and kissed me, It was my first kiss, but it was weird it felt like I was going to pass out and like I was about to grow wings and fly away. I have to tell Holly after about the first kiss thing later. She’ll flip! I thought.

When we stopped kissing I looked at him and blinked twice to make sure it really happened and it wasn’t me day dreaming again. And to my surprise it was real. “Wow,” I said, and Issac laughed.

“Wow, indeed.” He said.

“Yup, um, I’ll be right back. I wanna go talk to Holly for a second.” I said and turned to the kitchen where she was. When I seen her she was with a guy and she had a drink in her had. I guess I’m driving back home I thought and smiled.

“Hey! Can I talk to you for a second?” I asked.

“Yeah sure, Lets go outside it’s too loud in here.” she said.

“Okay,” I said once we were outside, “Guess what.”

“What?” She asked with a serious look on her face.

“I kiss, well no, a guy kissed me! Well not any guy either, he’s the brother of the guy who threw the party!” I said.

“Wow, that’s awesome Noemi! But he’s not human you do know that, right?”

“Yeah, no. I mean, I don’t know. What is he?”

“A vampire.” When she said that last word my eyes almost popped out of my head.

“What how do you know?” I said, “He don’t bite do he?” I asked.

Holly laughed, “no they’re not aloud to bite you unless you give them permission. And I know his brother which is a werewolf and no he don’t bite.” she said.

“Oh, well. That’s good.” I said.

“Yeah, but you shouldn’t get to serious with him, when you go out with a vampire there is always a chance of them imprinting on you which is never good.”

“Imprint? I human remember.” I said.

“Oh yeah, ops. Imprint means something like ‘soulmates’ but different, when a vampire or werewolf imprint on you it’s like impossible to break.” she said.

“Okay,” I said. “That don’t sound to bad.”

“I guess not,” Holly said.

“Haha, well I’m gonna go back and talk to him again, okay?” I said.

“Yeah , okay.” Holly said and smiled, “I’m leaving in about an hour though.”

“Okay,” I said and went back inside.

I walked back up to Issac, “Hey!” I said.

“Hey,” he said, “have fun talking to your friend?” he asked.

“Yeah, I guess. But first I need you to tell me something.” I said.

“Okay.” He said, “what is it?”

“What are you?”

“A vampire, obviously,” he said and laughed and for the first time I noticed he had fangs.

“Oh, why didn’t you tell me that earlier?” I asked.

“You never asked.” he said and smiled.

“Oh, right on” I said.

“Yup, anymore questions?” he asked.

“Yeah one more.” I said, “did you imprint on me?”

“Yes, the first second I saw you I imprinted on you that’s why you almost fell,” he said and smiled.

“Well, shit.” I said

“He-, where are you going?” I heard Holly.

“The hour is up, we’re going home, and since you’re drunk I’m driving.” I said and took the keys out of her hand.

“Okay, I’m coming, and I’m not drunk” she said. Once we were in the car she asked me why I was so pissed.

“Well, I found out the that vampire imprinted on me and than he wanted to bite me, so I slapped him.” I chuckled.

“Wow, I wish I’ve seen that.” she said and laughed.

“Yup, I wish you seen it too.” I said and that add, “how can you break an imprint anyway?”

“Wow, Noemi your giving me and head ache just thinking about that, it’s very difficult.” Holy said.

“Well it can’t be that hard,” I said.

“Well, it is!” she said.

“Wow, don’t flip. All I’m going to ask is can you do it?”

“Oh corse I can do it,” she said with a cocky smile.

I shook my head, “you cocky son of a -”

“Watch your language now,” Holly said cutting me off.

“Yes, mom,” I said and rolled my eyes.

“Just worry about you and your boyfriend.” She said.

“Whatever,” I said and ignored her. “Holly?”

“Yeah?”

“How fast can this can go?” I asked with a smile.

“Haha don’t even think about it,” she said but I was already starting to speed up and she was starting to bawl at me.

“Jezz I was only kidding,” I said and laughed.

“Very funny, ha-ha-ha.” She said and I laughed again.


It didn’t take long until I was home, and as I suspected mom was gone to work, “Guess I’ll see you later,” I said as I got out of the car and started to walk towards my house.

I opened the door and seen Amy and her boyfriend in the living room and almost puked, “Jezz Amy, can’t save that for when I’m not here,” I said and went to go to my room.

“Well you weren’t here two seconds ago,” she said and I could tell she was glaring at me. I ignored her and went up to my room. When I opened the door Issac was there leaning up against the wall.

“Erg, what do you want?” I asked.

“Nothing, why did you leave?” he asked.

“I don’t want to stay there anymore,” I said.

“You’re lying and you lied to your friend too,” he said and I glared at him.

“Leave me alone,” I said.

“Fine, but we are imprinted so it’s going to be pretty hard for you to stay away from me.” he said.

“What?” I said.

“Oh, you’ll see,” he said and I was confused all Holly said was that an imprint was like the two people were soulmates.

“Wow, Noemi,” I heard Amy. I turned around to see her in my door way looking at the guy in my room. “Who’s your friend?”

“Go away Amy, and he’s not my friend!” I shouted at her.

“Okay suit yourself,” she said and walked into the room looking at Issac, “Hi, I’m Amy,” she said to Issac.

“Hi, Amy, I’m Issac.” He said.

“Amy get out!” I said.

“Make me.” she said and I left the room. I went downstairs and got a pizza pocket. That when I heard something from upstairs, It was like a huge thump, but weightless, like someone dropped a kitten, well more like a puppy. Amy.

I ran up the stairs and ran in my room to see a bleeding Amy on my bedroom floor, she wasn’t dead but she looked horrible. I felt a tear run down my face than I ran back out of the bedroom and ran back down the stairs and into the bathroom where I threw up. Than I grabbed the phone and punched in 9-1-1. After the stupid ambulance got here I went into my bedroom to clean up the mess on my floor.

“Erg, why do this shit always happen to me?” I asked myself. While trying to scrub the blood out of the mat on my bedroom floor. It was the only thing the blood got on really, and just thinking about it made me want to puke again. In the end I thought it was best to throw the mat out. And buy a new one later on.

When I went down stairs I seen something but it only looked like my shadow so I ignored it and decided to call Holly. I called her house her mom picked up and I asked for Holly in a second Holly was there.

“Hello,” she said.

“Holly,” I said, “you’ll never guess what happened!” I said holding back tears.

“Noemi? Are you okay?”

“No, Amy’s in the hospital! He hurt her,” I said.

“Noemi, calm down who hurt her?”

“Issac.” I said.

“What? What did he do?”

“I don’t know!” I said and started crying.

“I coming over.” She said and than hung up. I whipped my eyes and than out of nowhere I started pacing back and forth the room. “Noemi?” I heard Holly and stopped pacing.

She was outside, I must of locked the door, once I unlocked it she came in and hugged me and I just stood there crying. “It’s going to be okay, do you want me to take you to the hospital?” she asked and I nodded. “Okay come, on.” she said.

“Okay,” I managed to say.

“Noemi, you do know people are going to be asking questions about what happened.” Holly said, “and you do know you can’t tell them she was attacked by a vampire.”

“I forgot about that,” I said.

“Well, we need to think of something quick,” she said.

“Yeah, we do. The hospital is only up right here,” I said.

“How about we say that say you were downstair when you heard something and you went upstairs and seen her on the floor bleeding,” Holly said.

“Okay, but she was also talking to Issac before that.” I said and than add, “what if she remembers him?”

“Well I don’t know, say when you got home no one was there,” Holly said as she parked the car.

“Okay, thanks so much Holly.” I said and asked her to come with me.

When I was aloud in the room me and Holly went in and I was so suspired at how undisturbing she looked. Her neck was heavily bandaged and she had a cast on her arm, when I walked in she looked over and smiled a little.

“Thanks, for calling 9-1-1,” she said.

“No problem,” I said, “are you okay?” I asked and was also surprised at how nice she was being, maybe she hit her head I thought.

“Well no, I’m not okay, my arm is broke so I wont be cheering for a while,” she gave me a sad smile, “but it could of been worse.” she added.

“Yeah, can you remember anything?” I asked.

“Everything,” she said.

“What happened?” Holly asked before I could.

“Nothing really, Issac asked if he could bite me which was weird. I didn’t say anything, he got impatient and bite me, and when he got threw me to the floor I landed on my arm and it broke.” She explained.

“Oh, did the bite hurt?” Holly asked.

“No, it tickled,” she said with no sarcasm.

I made a weird face, “really?” I said?

“Yeah,” she said and tried to nod.

“Amy, do you know what Issac, um, is?” Holly asked.

“No, but I think I know now.” she said and than hesitated, “vampire, you don’t think I’m crazy do you?” she asked.

“Hell, no girl!” Holly said.

“So he’s a vampire,” she said and than her eyes widened, “don’t that mean I’m a vampire too now that he bit me?” she asked.

“Do it?” I asked.

“Not exactly, when he dropped did he do anything else or leave?” Holly asked her.

“I don’t know I passed out.” she said.

Holly swore under her breath, “If you drank his blood than you are a vampire but you can’t remember. So I wont be able to tell until about a week.” Holly said.

“Amy you should get some sleep,” I said, “you lost a lot of blood.”

“But I feel fine, and your not the boss of me.” Amy said.

“Holly come on I want to go home,” I said.

“Okay,” Holly said and we left the hospital.
